STB initiated recordings
 |
The
R5000-HD can be set as a slave to your STB receiver, making
recordings as set by their VCR timers. As previously explained,
there are no additional IR receivers that need to be setup. All
interfacing is self-contained and the signals are transferred
via the USB connection to the R5000-HD. In order to use this
feature, match the VCR code with the one chosen in your STBs
configuration/preferences menu.
The checkbox must be enabled to use this mode. The status box
will then change to "Waiting for Code...". Once the
STB timer fires, and the record code is captured the status will
display "REC Received". |
Likewise when the
stop command is sent out the status displays "STOP Received".
You may also see "Unknown Command". This can happen if the
code selection on the R5000-HD pull-down doesn't match that of the STB
or if there is an irrelevant command received. Some receivers send out
power on/off commands and rewind commands in addition to record and
stop.
See your receiver's user manual to find out how to set the VCR code and
program their event timers. In order to eliminate the possibility of
interacting with your VCR, 2 codes are available on the R5000-HD for
each receiver type.
