Installation
After downloading and running the appropriate self-installing executable, follow the instructions for installing the R5000-HD USB driver as outlined in the DVR User Manual. Most components are registered automatically, however the virtual NTSC tuner requires a manual installation:

1. From the Start menu, navigate to Control Panel->Add Hardware. Click "Next" and wait while a quick search is done. You should see a screen similar to this; check "Yes..." and click "Next"...

2. From the list, choose "Add a new hardware device" and click "Next:"

3. Check the Advanced option: "Install the hardware I select from a list"

4. From the list, select "Sound, video and game controllers" and continue...

5. On the next screen click the "Have Disk..." button and navigate to the "c:\program files\r5000hd\mce\ folder (or the location where you installed the R5000-HD software, if different than the default). The file "VirtualTuner.inf" will show up in the "Locate File" dialog:

6. Click "Next" and continue installing the driver (click Next on the confirmation screen as well):

7. You'll see a warning that the driver is not digitally signed. Click "Continue Anyway" The Hardware Wizard will continue, copying over the required files...

8. This completes the installation. You do not need to restart your computer after this if you know how to restart the Media Center receiver service (from Start->Run: "services.msc"). Exit the Media Canter application first. If in doubt, reboot the PC. When the receiver service restarts it will automatically find the new tuner.

Note: The device will show up in the Device Manager under "Sound, video and game controllers" as "Virtual Tuner, WDM Video Capture"
