With its PVR "helper application", the R5000-HD can be easily programmed to automatically record multiple weeks worth of shows. Shows are recorded by simply clicking on the "record" icons from the interactive electronic program guide (EPG). An example from TitanTV is shown. Programs can also be scheduled remotely wherever Internet access is available (free TitanTV account is required). By clicking on the "Remote Schedule" icon, programs are added to the queue and downloaded periodically by the PVR. For C-band (4DTV) and Canadian satellite users, the Zap2it guide is still supported. Note that Remote Scheduling is only available to TitanTV users. |

The PVR will automatically launch and that show will be logged for recording. Nothing else needs to be set up. When it comes time to record the show, the PVR launches the R5000-HD which in turn controls your STB (turns on power, sets channel) and records the program. Options are available that allow the user to automatically add safety margins (start early/ end late) or manually edit the record times and channel. |
